Will Bulls gain from Hammers promotion?

Some months ago, Bulls News reported that Hereford United were chasing Yeovil for the proceeds of the sell-on clause cleverly agreed by Graham Turner when Gavin Williams was sold to the Glovers.

It was suggested that the full details of the sale of Williams from Yeovil to West Ham might not have been fully revealed.

Whether any extra payment was made from Yeovil to Hereford has not been made public.

Yesterday, Ciderspace, put a short article on its site about West Ham winning promotion to the Premiership.

Our congratulations to Gavin Williams (and also to another ex-Glover, Hammers manager Alan Pardew), who became a Premiership player today as West Ham United beat Preston North End 1-0 in the Championship Play-off Final. Our interest in the result of this match was not just sentimental, as part of the transfer deal that saw SuperGav move to The Boleyn Ground, a.k.a. Upton Park, was a clause for an additional payment to Yeovil Town should West Ham gain promotion to the Premier League. Although this figure was not disclosed the rumour mill suggests it will be in six figures.

Time will tell if the Bulls are to share in this additional payment.

UPDATE: Midday Wednesday

The Western Daily Press has said that as Williams has not made enough appearances for West Ham, Yeovil will not collect any money yet. However it states that The Glovers could still be handed a financial boost next year if Williams plays in 50 per cent of West Ham's Premiership games.
