Guinan scores for Cheltenham

Steve Guinan played in a reserve game for the Robins yesterday against Swindon Town and scored in his side's 2-1 defeat of their near neighbours.

Yao crossed from the wing and Guinan finished from eight yards.

It was his first game in a Cheltenham shirt since returning from his loan spell at Hereford and he may feature for the first team on Saturday.

"Steve has been away from the club for 90-odd days and I have told him that I want to take him up to Rotherham and see what happens there," Robins manager John Ward told the Gloucestershire press.

"He is an experienced player, who has done well tonight and he is in good form and good fitness so I'd be a fool not to use him."

Jamie Price also featured for Cheltenham yesterday.

"Jamie has been released from Birmingham so we invited him for a game here," Ward said.

"It's the first time I have seen him play because I didn't see him as a 14-year-old."

Price played for Birmingham when they met Hereford United in a friendly last summer.
