Nothing heard from players says Turner

Graham Turner has told BBC Hereford and Worcester that on the day when several players were expected to make their intentions known to the Hereford United manager about new contracts, nothing had been heard from any of them (the five senior players) by earlier this afternoon.

However Turner added that although none of them had formally replied he didn't think all would be leaving. Talks might reopen with some of them. However he does expect Andy Williams to join Bristol Rovers.

Turner also said that he felt the Bulls will have a marginally smaller squad than last year.

"We would be looking at 17 or 18 of the more senior type of players who would be straight into consideration.

"But you've also got to keep room for one or two younger potential players to come in; that's when we have a look at them - in pre-season training.

"If we think that somebody can come in and improve, and has got potential, then we've got to have room to take them.

"I think that we've got a lot to offer players and we try to convince them, particularly the younger ones, that it's the right place to come to further their career."
