Bulls Make Loan Signing

The Bulls have signed teenage defender Robbie Threlfall, pic from Anfield Banter, on a months loan from Liverpool.

The 18 year old defender is an England u-19 international, and can play on the left side or central defence and can also operate as a winger. His only first team experience so far has come in friendly matches.

With Karl Broadhurst and Dean Beckwith out for the weekend, and Trent McLenahan also expected to miss games next month, a loan signing was expected. It is not yet know whether Threlfall, or indeed the Watford loan pair of Toumani Diagouraga and Theo Robinson, will be available to play in the FA Cup match with Leeds.

Below is a short profile from Liverpool Official Website:

Left-back Robbie Threlfall graduated to Melwood ahead of the 2006-07 season. The Scouser, who can also play centre-back and left-wing, has yet to make his senior competitive debut, though he did feature in the Asia Trophy in Hong Kong in July 2007.

His young career has already been packed with drama having taken part in Liverpool's successive FA Youth Cup triumphs.

Threlfall was at the centre of events when the Reds retained the trophy following a memorable victory over Man Utd in 2007.

After scoring an OG in the first leg, the defender bagged the only goal in the return at Old Trafford - thus setting up a dramatic penalty shoot-out. He duly converted his own spot kick and was voted Liverpoolfc.tv's man of the match.

The youngster has also represented England Under-19s.
