News Round Up

Trent McClenahan's Olyroos lost their Intercontinental Cup final to Nigeria 2-0 in Malaysia. Darlington fans are increasingly concerned at strong rumours that their playing budget will be slashed next season by as much as 50%. Several of the out of contract high earners were offloaded last week, with only a pair of youth teamers having so far agreed new deals after a £1million playing budget last season overstretched their resources.

Lincoln hope to have manager Peter Jackson back in control next week after his cancer treatment. He has been missing since March after being diagnosed with throat cancer, but is said to have now regained his voice. The Non-League paper reports it's top 50 Non-League strikers, with ex-Bull Stuart Fleetwood at no.3. Halifax's Jon Shaw is no.1.

Scunthorpe are being linked to a string of strikers, the latest being out of contract Mansfield man Michael Boulding. Brighton have lost the services of reserve team boss Ian Chapman, who is apparently unhappy about an effective demotion with the return of Micky Adams.
