Parry Set For PNE

Ex-Bull Paul Parry is the subject of a £300,000 bid from Preston North End.

Cardiff chairman Peter Ridsdale confirmed today that they have accepted a bid, telling Wales Online: "We have agreed a fee for Paul Parry with another club. The club involved have been given permission for talks with the player."

The site names Preston as the club in question, with the fee reported to be far less than that reported last week when Doncaster were claimed to be interested. Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll has rubbished suggestions he is interested in Parry, but another Championship club is claimed to be ready to join the chase.

The Bulls are still believed to hold a 20% sell-on clause on Parry, but it would not be a huge windfall on a £300,000 fee. After the initial £75,000 payment the Bulls received from Cardiff in 2004 further payments were received for two lots of appearances and his international debut that pushed the total fee received around the £100,000 mark. A 20% cut on the profit of a £300,000 move would be no more than £40,000 - not a season changing amount but a welcome addition to bolster finances in what will be a financially difficult season across the board.
