Stanley Call For Home Support

Accrington captain Andy Proctor has called on fans to back the club in their bid for promotion, starting with the visit of the Bulls tonight.

Stanley have an average attendance of just 1,740 this season, down 12% on last term, and have six of their final nine matches at home. Proctor told the Lancashire Telegraph the team was good value to watch: “We play good football at home and we’ve scored nine goals in our last three games. With the Ultras the atmosphere is good and when there is a big crowd it really does spur the lads on."

The Bulls may be spurred on by the comments made in the same paper by fan blogger Stephen Lowe, who tells readers:

'Now if there’s a team that we owe a thrashing it has to be the Bulls. The trips to Edgar Street are very seldom fruitful and the trip home on the back roads is hellish. I get the feeling that we are due another 7-4 Gillingham result, we just need the rub of the green as far as the officials go and a tad more luck in front of goal.'

Stanley are to wait on the fitness of Terry Gornell before deciding on their line-up. The 21 year old ten goal striker missed their weekend draw with Aldershot after gashing a leg last Tuesday at Crewe.
