West Ham fans have followed the Bulls in rejecting the direct tactics used in games.
Over Christmas, Gary Peters' influence over team tactics saw the Bulls play a particularly direct style of football. The reaction was an almost universal rejection of the tactics in favour of a passing style, which eventually led to the Bulls board following the fans wishes with the appointment of Richard O'Kelly.
Now, at Upton Park, Sam Allardyce is facing a similar backlash. The BBC reports:
Supporters at their 2-0 win over Peterboro were heard singing, 'We're West Ham United, we play on the floor'. But Allardyce said: "I'm sick of all that rubbish."
"I think we've lost three at home all season so I don't know why they are not harmonious - you'll have to ask the fans that. Perhaps their expectations are too much and they're getting a bit carried away, I don't know."
While the Hammers will continue to play the long ball game at present, Bulls fans were handed a sample of the sumptuous football enjoyed in the record-breaking 03/04 Conference season last weekend.
